Key Foam Facts
The following are a few factors to consider when purchasing open cell foam:
Hardness: Basically, the hardness of the foam is what you can feel when it is compressed against the palm of your hand. We test the hardness by measuring (in Newtons) how much force is required to compress the foam. Our team will recommend the optimal hardness for your specific requirements.
Density: To assess the density of foam, we weigh cubic metres of it in kilograms. Because denser foam typically requires the inclusion of more material, it will usually be of higher quality and cost.
Soundproofing: As the name suggests, this is the degree to which the foam can block out sound. Soundproof foam also typically has high heat reduction benefits.
Resilience: This is the ability for the foam to recover from impact. Although two different types of foams may have equal hardness, they may have differing levels of resilience due to their density. We will listen carefully to your needs and recommend the optimal level of foam resilience to meet them.
